Water Night

Claire-Allen
Mackenzie-Allen

The first person we went to was Amy Pierson. We asked her how she came up with water night. “It has been a tradition,” she says. So what we asked her next was “How long has water night been a tradition?” “It’s been around about 13 years,” she replied.

The last person we interviewed was Trevor Wilson. He said he went to water night and had a lot of fun. He video taped all the activities. He also told us he wants to do it again, but said that he could have done without the bubbles and water balloons. That ends our story about water night.

“Beckley Cabin Hair Salon”

Arlene-Beckley

Here in Beckley Cabin, we have a hair salon. We call it the AEKCL Hair Salon. We charge nothing. We give all sorts of hairdos: curls, waves, highlights wish washable markers, and braids/anything. We use that person’s scrunchies, heir brushes, and Matrix Curl.Life defining system. We call it AEKCL for Arlene, Ellen, Kylie, Courtney, and Lindsay. Lindsay is the counsler. I, Arlene, is the hairstylist, Ellen is the highlighter, Kylie is the model, Courtney supplies the supplies, and Lindsay squirts perfume. We will now interview some of the employees. I am now meeting Ellen Harper at the pavillion. Ellen says her favorite part of the salon is her job of highlighting hair. She really enjoys working there being with all her friends; [as you’re one.] She says she could help by decorating big signs and making friends with possible customers. She also can house-calls for highlighting. I am now meeting Kylie Lallemont at the same place. She says her favorite part of the salon is making the customers happy. She enjoys working at the salon because you like to find out the hair possibilities of the different hair types. She says she could help the salon by taking a survay of the best hair-dos. I am now interviewing the last employee, Courtney Johnson, at the campfire site. She says her favorite part of the hair salon is screaming “refreshments!” She enjoys working at the salon because she likes to make people laugh and it is fun. She says she could help the salon by just helping people feel good while their hair is being done. Now you know all about Beckley cabin’s hair salon. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

“Movie Night – Good or Bad?”

On Wednesday night, we all went to Hylbert Hall for an event: Movie Night. When we learned that the movie was The Incredibles, some were disappointed. Some said they had seen the movie “a million times.” Some said the movie was annoying. But some enjoyed it! So the question is – was it good or bad??? Let’s find out. Susie says “It was good, but we should have watched the entire movie.” Some also complain about the glitches on the screen on the beginning of Movie Night. Most people liked it, so we say it was good. Oh, and along the way when we were asking people, Zac said that ‘He is pretty,” and asked us to put it in the paper. You’re pretty Zac. Happy?

The Love Note Story

By:  Lucas-Broad Run
At lunch this morning a love note was found by Kristina to the single male counselors.  I’m trying to find out who wrote it.  Kristina says she found it in the mailbox halfway through brunch and it was not signed.  I think someone in this camp right now is the one who wrote it.  But it must have been a girl.  Kara says that a girl in her bunk that is anonoumous said that all the boys were cute.  They also told me that it either someone else that is copying the original love note or it was a repeat camper.  I hear it wasn’t a single girl, but a group of girls.  They also got something wrong Wade is not single, so I have narrowed it down to Kara’s cabin.

What Girls Look for in Guys

As we all know the minds of girls and guys are polar opposites.  So the question is; what do girls really looks for in guys?  We found a list of things that we believe is what girls look for in guys.  The given thing that we found at the top of the list was “loves Jesus”….duhh!  The following things were: “Is good at four square, says goodnight of good-bye (as opposed to sprinting away), doesn’t clip fingernails in pubic, makes a pretty woodland creature, thinks I’m womanly, stays up late, plays an instrument, doesn’t ignore me when I’m talking to him or when I wave at him, is good to him mom, can follow all given (spoken and unspoken) directions, offers to give you a dog, is willing to make improvements, doesn’t wipe sweat on you, inspiring, offers to defend me with food, and God tells you I am the one.”  That’s all.

Did Dave Really Eat the Worm and Why?

By:  Susie S, Lauren C. and Jordan A.

Did Dave really eat the worm?  If he did, why did he do it.  We wrote this article to tell you the real story.  We interviewed some people (and worms) to help tell the story.

Zac said, “I believe that Dave ate the worm because I’ve seen him crawling in the dirt, making chomping noises.  I have eaten a worm, if gummy worms count.”
Adam Powell said, “I don’t think that Dave ate a real worm.  I think that the worm was either fake or gummy.  Yes, I have truthfully eaten a real worm.”

Emily Rainey said, “ I think Dave really did eat the worm because I saw it move.  No, I have never eaten a worm.”
We had Zac translate between a worm and us.
Grannie Gertrude, the worm, said, “I am infuriated by my brother’s death.  My anger is the heat of 1,000 suns.  We worms are forming a rebellion of 10,000 worms to attack Dav3e and swallow him whole.  Watch out, Dave!!!”

Susie Smith said, “Well I was the cook in the skit and I put the worms on the plate, so I can tell you that it was a real worm.

Lauren Casto said, “Yes, I think it was a real worm.  I think he really ate the worm because he didn’t spit it back out afterwords.

Jordan Lallemont said, “ I know he ate the worm because he told the cast of the play, it was true.
Dave said, “

I ate Willy the Worm because it opens a door to talk to people about Jesus.  When they ask me if I really ate the worm, I say yes but it’s nothing compared to what Jesus did for us.  People don’t believe I ate it, they can believe anything they want.  I really, really, ate the worm. And so we conclude our story about how Dave ate the worm and why.

4-Square Tournament

By Chase and Justin
Elk Valley

Is 4 square the most popular game in Cowen?  Well… to Conner Nesselrode thinks it is.  When we were talking with Conner he says although it is very popular he thinks he can get at least 1st or 2nd in the tournament.  But now we go to the champ (Joey Woods) and he says that he thinks this year will be harder but he and Conner would be a good match.  We will have to wait until the end of the tournament.
